About

Patent Holder

The technology is developed over many years of efforts by Mr Rohit Khaitan, who holds the patents. The ethanol production patent establishes economically viable cellulose to sugars to 2nd generation bioethanol technology. The technology has undergone various levels of development, testing and rigorous application levels. The pilot plant is set up in collaboration with BIRAC as a project titled "Cellulosic Ethanol Pilot Plant for Rice Straw Management", successfully validated in 2021. The technology is highly efficient and unique as it fully utilises all the components of lignocellulosic material to produce high-value products or generate green energy, this establishes a breakthrough in lignin valorization, that remained elusive this far. Rice straw (or paddy straw) is the most abundantly produced agricultural waste without any mass scale commercial use. Our technology solves this long pending problem which due to open field burning is a significant environmental hazard.

PATENTED
TECHNOLOGY DEMONSTRATION

This technology has been certified at Technology Readiness Level - 8 (TRL-8) by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, thereby certifying the technology is ready for commercial deployment. The technology has also been evaluated by the Centre for High Technology, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India.
It has been selected for setting up commercial Bio-refineries under the PM JIVAN Yojana, a flagship scheme to setup 2G ethanol plants based on a path breaking patented technology.

RENEWABLE ENERGY

Providing value
Through Innovation

We provide complete solutions to set up a 2nd generation biorefinery as a greenfield project or plug on to an existing sugar mill with bagasse availability.

The raw material is agricultural residue (rice or paddy straw/bagasse) which is either burnt in open fields leading to pollution, or for generating steam in sugar mills.

The 2nd generation bioethanol is a climate-friendly fuel that can directly replace petrol or gasoline without changing the supply chain or automobile engines.

Our primary product, 2nd generation ethanol, can further be converted to Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Bio ethanol can be used as a base/platform for many petro chemical products.

As a thumb rule, every kilogram of 2nd generation ethanol used as fuel reduces a kilogram of carbon dioxide accumulating in the earth's atmosphere.
